The flavors have a distinctly Japanese touch. They offer grilled dumplings on the menu, which differ from the boiled dumplings typically found in Chinese cuisine; these grilled ones are prepared in the Japanese style. Since 1994, I have been visiting Buffalo from Japan, and finding food that caters to Japanese tastes has always been a challenge. The ambiance of this place is unique, and it reminded me of a restaurant with the same name, "Bamboo China." Back then, Buffalo had little to offer that aligned with Japanese culinary preferences, aside from "Bamboo China." I was taken to this restaurant by a representative, so I wasn't familiar with the location. However, I happened to stumble upon this same-named place and decided to try their shrimp lo mein. While Japanese cuisine tends to be quite salty lately, this dish was not overly salty and was quite delicious.

Bamboo China is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant! I've been dining here for about 5-6 years, and nothing else comes close. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is always friendly. We typically order takeout, usually placing quite a large order, but they’re always quick to prepare it. My go-to dish is the pork fried rice paired with chicken wings. The rice is soft and generously loaded with pork, while the chicken wings are consistently crunchy and perfectly sized. I highly recommend trying the happy family dish as well; it comes with a side of white rice and is likely the second-best item on the menu. I also appreciate that they accept credit cards since I rarely carry cash.
