Contribuiți la feedbackI recently dined at a world-class restaurant that reminded me of the famous Spotted Pig in the West Village. The service was excellent, with a rating of 5 out of 5. The atmosphere was also fantastic, receiving a rating of 5 out of 5. The meal was a dinner service, and the price per person was $100 or more. The food received a rating of 4 out of 5.
We have dined at Cochon a few times and have consistently found the food and service to be among the best we have experienced anywhere. During our most recent visit, we were pleasantly surprised to be served by a new server who admitted that we were her very first customers. Despite her young age of 20, she provided excellent service, knew the menu well, and made a great wine recommendation to pair with my grilled pork chop. This reflects the quality training that the waitstaff at Cochon receive. It is enjoyable to observe the teamwork between the kitchen staff and servers, which contributes to the overall excellent dining experience at Cochon. We highly recommend this restaurant for a dine-in dinner, where prices range from $50 to $100 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5. We particularly recommend trying the fish dishes.
Had a reservation at 8. After being seated it took about 20 minutes for our server to greet us and about another 20 minutes before we even got a menu. Had questions about the menu but the server rarely returned to check on us. Also took a very long time bringing the check. Didn’t leave until almost 10 pm, wasn’t expecting to have a 2 hour dinner. Restaurant a little dark. Food was okay, definitely not what I was expecting for the price. Sides desperately needed salt and were a little undercooked , scallops were okay. I was expecting a little more finesse for a $42 plate. I was also told the duck would come with au gratin potatoes but received regular roasted. Overall experience was a bit lackluster. Polite, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Superb food, in pleasant surroundings, with a good selection of by-the-glass wines. The 30 year port is a fine finishing touch. Not cheap, but excellent value for money.
