They offered refreshing yogurt bowls with fresh fruit and quart-sized Mason jars of cold brew coffee. The staff was friendly and incredibly efficient; they really have their system figured out. Our food arrived quickly, hot, and exactly as we ordered. This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last!
This diner has a 1960s theme that feels a bit worn out. The decor could definitely improve if they removed the plastic palm trees. On a Friday night during a holiday weekend, the place was nearly empty. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with a side of French fries. The crab cake was small and tasty but nothing special. The slice of tomato seemed to be commercially grown, which was surprising considering it's late August in New Jersey—why can't they find locally grown tomatoes? On a positive note, the sauce served with the sandwich was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, the bottom of the bun was so hard from grilling that I struggled to bite into it. The French fries were fresh, hot, and quite decent. My partner chose the Greek gyro. The portion was generous, and the ingredients were beautifully arranged on the plate, plus extra pita bread was offered upon request. However, the lamb in the gyro was severely overcooked, and my partner had to send it back. The replacement lamb was much better. We took the overcooked lamb home for our pets, but even they refused to eat it. While I appreciate the restaurant's effort to rectify the situation by replacing the lamb, the overall quality of the food just wasn't satisfactory. We won't be returning.
For my main course, I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap with fries and a pickle. It was the best Caesar wrap I’ve had in Wildwood! It was loaded with plenty of chicken, dressing, and lettuce throughout. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. The service was excellent too! Overall, I highly recommend Marvis Dinner if you're in Wildwood!
Huge menu, delicious and friendly staff! Edit: went back for breakfast and that's when things really get good! Hash browns, pancakes all delicious.
DELICIOUS. Bruh how many stars can I give this place? We came in expecting an average American diner but we were BLOWN AWAY. Is this what a gourmet diner experience is?!?! This felt like a fancy restaurant mastering the art of diner food. The food tasteshomemade. Every single thing we got was 1) enormous and 2) delicious. I felt like Guy Fieri had personally manifested thisGoogie beauty and dropped it into easily walkable Wildwood. For example the waffle fries were perfectly baked, creating a mashedpotato inside with crunchy outside???? and they were perfectly salted and so addicting to eat...same with the fried fish! Ourwaiter had a sense of humor while also being very polite and soft-spoken; he was so genuine and kind. The hostess was verywelcoming and understanding. Meal by meal breakdown...My mom was blown away by the freshness of the chicken soup (she said ithad a grandma's-cooking feel to it). My dad always orders fish and chips on vacation, so he is our control group, and he too washighly impressed, saying this take on the dish was something sensational. Lastly I got the Shrimp Diavolo and man, they gave mea portion that could easily feed a family of 5. Afterwards I had to take it to the motel fridge in a box and I was emotionalthat I couldn't finish it all. Honestly I even felt that way during the meal...I was sad that I was getting full! Long storyshort, this place NAILED it. 10/10. The photos don't do it enough justice, it was AMAZING! Couldn't have been better, from thepresentation to the chefs to the staff. Next time we're in Wildwood, we're going here for breakfast!
