The Boathouse - Wildwood Crest

We wanted to look for a nice seafood restaurant on the water and we stumbled across this place. It's a pretty nice size clean restaurant and we were able to walk right in to be seated. Seemed like a slow night. The staff was pretty friendly and our waiter was very nice and attentive. He is the only reason I added another star. Outside of that the food is terrible. My husband ordered the broiled seafood platter and I ordered the scallop imperial. My husband's meal was supposed to come with a crab cake. My meal was supposed to have crab stuffing on top. Well the crab cake stuffing were both the same and it was terrible. It was just a bunch of cakey bread with little crab. The scallops were flavorless as well. My husband agreed his platter wasn't that great either. I also got the she crab bisque which too was meh. Our food wasn't hot enough either including the soup. The only thing that was actually good was the garden salad and the coleslaw. On top of that one of the staff members had some serious BO going on and that also didn't help the matter. It wasn't our waiter it was someone else and every time he walked by it made me want to hold my breath. I wish I could have given this place a 5 star review because of how nice our waiter was but unfortunately I can't say I recommend this place.

This place was very good! Great calamari and seafood. Sunset on the deck was gorgeous. Will be a yearly tradition.

Beautiful views from the back deck and great food! The surf and turf was fresh and the service was awesome. Would recommend trying this spot out.

I highly recommend the Boathouse Restaurant! My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a nicer meal on the last night of our our beach vacation. The hotel staff where we were staying recommended the Boathouse. So glad we went! A little pricey but the staff and Manager Rose (5 managers in this restaurant ensure everything runs smoothly) took the time to make sure we got our money's worth! We ordered little clams appetizer, surf n turf and MD crab cakes. Family atmosphere, come as you are dress code, top shelf menu!

1. Make sure to clean the water glasses on the table. During sunset service, the sun quickly reveals how dirty they can be. I had to request a new glass twice, and the second one still had lipstick on it. 2. The Sunset Margarita was the worst margarita I've ever had. It tasted like just a mix, with no Grand Marnier included. Plus, never serve a margarita in a piña colada glass. 3. The coconut shrimp were not fresh; they were clearly frozen from a bag, which was disappointing. 4. On a positive note, the linguine and clams were sensational! It was the highlight of the dining experience. With a little more attention to detail in the bar area and the dishwashing, this could be a fantastic dining experience.
