The Chippy - Wigan

Good place to pop into for a quick portion of chips whilst shopping in Standish. Staff here are very friendly, chips good. Can’t complain.

Lovely cod and chips served by a smashing ,helpful young lady (sorry i think it was Laura).Friendly and nothing too much trouble.5 stars.

Best chippy in Standish, beats hands down all the other over rated chip shops on Standish! Open all hours and do a choice of cod or haddock which is a nice bonus!

Sign on counter says they do not accept Scottish £20 which is legal tender. After growing up in standish myself (with a scottish father who has lived in standish for 50 years) and I then moved to Scotland imagine how embarrassing it was to take my Scottish girlfriend into this establishment. Would never use this chippy again. Would go to Pepper Lane chippy instead!

The Chippy at Standish is by far one of the best takeaways in the area. It has a hygiene rating of 5, the only one in the area from what I'm told. The staff are always friendly and the food is delivered promptly and with a smile. It's tasty and well worth the price you pay!
