Volksgarten Pavillon Grill - Wien

This café was the worst thing I've ever traveled in all those years. The service was bad, the food was bad and expensive. We experienced the cooking of their nails in the kitchen area with cooking utensils. The bill was wrong as other customers were and when we asked for a receipt, she said that the register didn't work. The only time we got a service was when she hoped for a tip. My tip is avoid You like the plague.

After I had seen my husband and me to get my wheelchair first in the garden when he began to rain... inside, the waiter, after he had already instructed on something completely overpriced food and drink, actually ASKED my husband, why he would not tip him anymore. BOTH waiters watched us fight with my wheelchair without moving a muscle...but having the admiring cheek, then after more lace has never been there. The Volksgarten is a beautiful place, but there is no reason to go to the overpriced pavilion. You can find much better service a stone's throw away. There are beautiful cafes directly on the street NOT load these prices and not down what they think are tourists. (We may live abroad, but are still not completely deaf, blind and speechless). Easy: AVOID

I shudder to think how this would've gone without a native German speaker in our party. They charged us .50 each for tap water, 1.50 for bread and 1.20 for two small sachets of butter!!! Our server was slow and rude, my plate was taken away before I'd finished chewing, and the waiter took tips and pretended not to hear when our German speaking friend specifically told him not to. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

In this cafe/restaurant the staff is very unpolite. The toilet (pay for it 50 cent each) is very dirty. Overprice and expensive

Gartenplatz, where the location between Heldenplatz and Volksgarten offers a dramatic potential, but seriously disappeared. Cool and relaxed atmosphere doesn't work out for a bit of delicious food. Come for a “cut liquor bread” or expensive sausages or, better, only for drinks. In the evening the grill does not make much better, not the service. Enjoy an Apero, the birds and the lounge music and eat around the corner in the Palm House.
