Wiederkehr Wine Cellar Weinkeller

We have dined at this restaurant multiple times and have always enjoyed the food and service. However, we were a bit taken aback today when we saw a medium size dog being allowed inside and sitting at a tabletop. The dog did not appear to be a service animal, as it was not identified as one and was brought in snugly wrapped in a blanket. The dog sat upright beside its owner with its head over the table, and was even called by name by the waitstaff, suggesting it was a regular visitor. While we love animals and have had pets ourselves, we were surprised to see a dog at a tabletop in a restaurant and it made us question what other exceptions may be allowed besides non-service dogs being inside.

The service was satisfying, but the atmosphere was mediocre and a bit dimly lit. We ordered steak and shrimp, both cooked medium well to avoid any undercooking issues. Unfortunately, the steak was slightly rare, despite sending it back to the kitchen. It seemed like the cook only knew how to cook steaks rare. The shrimp and potatoes were average. The overall appearance of the restaurant was disappointing, as it looked a bit rundown. We gave it a try, but won't be returning in the future.

This restaurant is a wonderful piece of Arkansas history! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the wine selection was fantastic. It's definitely worth taking a drive down a winding country road to experience. I absolutely loved it!

Not what you expect when you drive up… don’t judge a book by it cover. Food was really good, with right wine pairing even better. Go by the rule, what grows together goes together and you can’t go wrong. Service was also good Nice little find.

We ate lunch here on weekday restaurant was surprisingly busy. Food was good service was great, atmosphere is a plus. Gift shop has a large selection of wines. Would eat here again
