The Wickham Boatshed

Been here on recommendation by people we met on our way to Paris (by bike).

Today i went to the boatshed after people raving over great meals and great presentation. However i shared a mezze plate with my mum that was attrocious the combination of hot and cold was odd the cauliflower was soggy over cooked and tasted seasoned with jarred mince garlic the capsicum warmed and on top of rocket thar became inetable the only up was the olives were tasty and the flat bread fresh. For $30 it was horrific as most was not able to be eaten.

By the look of the line up I could tell this place was popular, we were not disappointed. Very friendly staff, great food, great coffee; lovely sitting in the sun watching the passing parade. It was that great we went back the next day. It was a 15 walk from the Crown plaza.

Off to the old Rocksalt restaurant today ,it's now a totally different restaurant with new owners .....We only had one course so can only rate the food on what we had , I had the Atlantic salmon on chat potatoes , I did ask for the salmon to be undercooked and must say it was beautiful ,But the potatoes were sooooo over cooked I'm sure they were in the pot for a week .The menus read ,crunchy,oh dear so far were thease potatoes from being crunchy ,more like mash ....The Thai salad was really just red onion !! Service only average ,but a great place to sit outside and enjoy the day ..Would I go again ?

We are fortunate enough to live within walking distance to this lovely restaurant. The food is great and so is the coffee! Served just how we ordered. Timing of our orders have always be great with little waiting time even with a very full busy house. The staff are very friendly and accomodating and helpful with prams etc. The thick shake we ordered was a real thick shake!! The location looking over the mariner is beautiful, rain hail or shine and a perfect spot for people watching and relaxing. We love our food and this restaurant serves great meals. It's our new place to visit and if it stays the same we'll keep returning. A great place for families, friends and anyone.
