Filiberto's Mexican Food - Wickenburg

Although this Mexican fast food chain may not be considered gourmet, the food from their shops is flavorful and of good quality. I visit this restaurant about once a week, usually on Taco Tuesdays when tacos are $1.49 each, and I am always satisfied. One of my favorite items to order is the carne asada burrito, which I like to request well-done or crispy for a better flavor and texture. While they often do not cook the meat to my preference, it still tastes okay. I enjoy making my meal spicier by adding fresh onion and jalapeno from their salsa bar, and sampling all three of their salsas. However, I find their drink prices to be a bit high. To save money, I usually walk to the attached gas station/convenience store to purchase a 44 oz drink from their soda fountain for only a dollar.

Quality fast-food Mexican cuisine? Yes, it's available here at Filibertos. The young and somewhat inexperienced front desk order crew, although friendly and eager to help, provide solid service. The cooks excel in their craft, producing great food for a fast-food establishment. Be warned, the portions are huge! I opted for a meal from the Junior menu this time and actually managed to finish my chicken burrito. Impressive. On a previous visit, I had to take home a third of my order due to the generous serving sizes. One unusual feature that caught my attention and requires the owner's consideration: a customer was observed washing his hands at a sink in the main dining area. A sink for handwashing in the restaurant's dining room? It appears to be a nod to establishments in Mexico. While convenient, it raises questions about health code compliance. The lack of a barrier between the handwashing area and the condiment counter is concerning. How this oversight has gone unnoticed during health inspections is puzzling. Hygiene practices in shared food areas are crucial, especially in the era of Covid. The incident highlights the need for stricter health regulations. Where's Fauci when you need him? It has always been and will always be important to prioritize public health and safety.

The burritos were excellent and the service was quick. The young lady at the counter had a lovely smile.

Yum! Don't let yourself get put off by the exterior. Food was great! People were really friendly. And some of the cleanest restrooms we saw on our whole trip.
