Charley's Steak House - Wickenburg

I really wanted to like this place since I'm a carnivore. I come to Wickenburg every year for the winter and it's the first time I visited this place. I ordered the most expensive steak on the menu and asked for a medium well. The filet mignon I got was a piece of charred meat, it was totally burn, dry and hard to eat. When the waitress saw that I was unhappy she offered me to send it back but I refused since I don't believe in second chances in restaurants. Needless to say I will not go back there. I was very excited to try this steak house. I am new to the area. Charley's was closed until the new season started. The outside of the building is so cute and inviting. The inside is old and very outdated, looking more like a banquet hall than a fine dining restaurant. They need a full remodel. Make a sit at bar and updated dining room. Get rid of the outdated wood paneling, and old bottles everywhere. The food was just ok, not at all worth the suggested price. I had the special for the evening. The portions were small compared to other restaurants with the same item. The flavor was ok, nothing exceptional. The scalloped potatoes were really greasy, you could find at any Dennys or chain. The dinner came with a dessert, which consisted of a very small scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce. The ice cream was icy like it had thawed and was re frozen. There was a Porsche in the parking lot, maybe spend mo ey on updating this old outdated place. Make the I side as inviting as the outside. Very disappointed in this place. I had high hopes for a great place to sit for a couple hours having drinks and great food. Not this place.
