Star Of Bengal - Whitstable

I visited your restaurant today at 1:45 PM for lunch, but I was told that you had already stopped serving, despite your posted closing time of 2:30 PM. I've been a loyal customer for years and have recommended your establishment to many friends and family. The food is always great, but I will not be returning after my experience today. The two gentlemen I interacted with seemed uninterested and unmotivated to assist. It’s disappointing, especially since we were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary with you.

I decided to give this restaurant another chance after my last visit about two years ago, which was just mediocre. Since then, I’ve been exploring other options for my curry dinners. However, chefs come and go, and things can change, so I thought I’d try Star of Bengal again. I'm glad I did—it was nearly perfect! The tandoori chicken starter was succulent and beautifully cooked and presented, and my curry was fantastic. This was on a £15 five-course banquet night, which was an incredible value. I would now rank Star of Bengal as the number one Indian restaurant/takeaway in Whitstable. Well done!

I can't recommend these guys enough. The service was impeccable, and the food was simply outstanding. I tend to be quite particular about my meals and often find something to complain about, but I couldn't find any faults with any of the dishes. The dish with the chicken served sizzling right in front of you is absolutely incredible—highly recommend it! We loved this place so much that we returned just a few days later. From now on, we won't be going anywhere else for Indian food. We enjoy filling the table with a variety of dishes to share, and with their fantastic prices, leaving a tip of at least 15% was no problem at all. Great job, everyone. Five stars!

Nice food but… Horrible managers and Awful restaurant: I had to witness staff arguing at full volume during service. Had to wait a unbelievable 1 hour for my MAINS to arrive. Not surprised as I had low expectations at first. Was my first time visiting Whitstable and fortunately I will Never be coming back. Thanks

Good setting, polite and friendly staff, extensive menu, excellent food. A little confusion over our order but they were very busy. Recommend.
