Contribuiți la feedbackI received an invitation from a friend to try out a Chinese food joint. Eager to delve into some Korean soul food, I decided on Jjajangmyun 짜장면 and specifically went for the seafood variation the Three Seafood Jjajangmyun 삼선간짜장 . Drawing from my past experiences and diverse tastes, I've developed a knack for recognizing exceptional flavors. As I eagerly anticipated, I was looking for the pinnacle of taste. However, when it came to the crunch, the experience wasn't quite up to par. I'd rate the taste a 3 out of 5. My main qualms revolved around the Jjajang paste, which didn't have the heat I was expecting, and the seafood elements were chopped into tiny bits, which hindered the enjoyment of these key ingredients with chopsticks. The timing of our visit fell just beyond the peak lunch hours, making us the sole diners at that moment. It left me contemplating whether expecting different results while executing the same methods could lead to success in the fierce culinary arena.
That's strange. I've been to many restaurants, but the spicy Jjamppong here is incomparable. When I go to Atlanta, this is where I go first. I think a lot of Korean restaurant reviews in Atlanta are a bit strange. Competitors and acquaintances seem to be clouding Google reviews a lot. I tracked down a few people who gave 1 or 2 ratings here, and it seems like that's the case. . Jangchung-dong Jokbal was also three stars. The price and taste of pig's feet here are the best. When you pay at Gyeongmi, TIP is not always charged and only the initial payment amount is posted. I don't think the people working here know how to charge an additional tip after the initial payment, but it's already been 2 years. It's even more unfortunate that they seem to be naive people who think that if they just cook good food and do business well, people will recognize them even if they don't know about these things. My family also runs a food business in Korea, and if I were to run a food business, I would like to learn about Jjamppong Jjajangmyeon here. Fiery flavor, deep soup flavor, amazing squid, vegetables, the best Jjamppong I've had in 40 years.
I ordered the jjampong and it was great! I can’t say that about every Korean Chinese restaurant that I’ve tried. Actually, it was the best rich broth! I’ll keep trying jjampong at all the restaurants that offer it. But for now, I’m glad I tried this restaurant out. The atmosphere and staff aren’t very inviting but seeing that all the patrons were Korean, I felt better. I’m really glad that I tried this place!
My first experience coming here to Ching Mei was very pleasant to come in with the welcoming staff and delicious food but the only thing that is off about the place is that the place is Chinese but there are some overlap of Korean cuisine there. Another thing that was off about the place is when I was walking out of the restaurant I checked my receipt and noticed that there is a different name to the restaurant and it didn’t say Ching Mei on it, it had a Korean name for some odd reason.
This is a korean-chinese restaurant so don't expect the same type of food as you would find in other Chinese spots. The food is still pretty tasty and my go to spot for jajangmyeon.
