King Chop Suey - Whiting

Without a doubt, this is the worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to! I ordered the pepper steak lunch meal, and it was terrible. The rice tasted like it was four days old, soggy, with just a hint of soy sauce and some unidentifiable gray bits of meat. The pepper steak was so salty that after just a few bites, I developed a headache and my heart started racing. I'm currently in the emergency room writing this. I'm planning to report them to food inspectors and seek legal advice. This is a serious matter, and King Chop Suey at this location needs to be shut down for good.

I had a craving for rice, so I decided to order some. I added extra shrimp for an additional $5, which felt a bit steep, but I went along with it. However, when I got home, I discovered the rice was completely bland—just plain white rice with no flavor at all. The egg rolls were overcooked as well, which was really disappointing. In total, I spent $22, and it felt like a waste. If this is your only option, then maybe give it a try, but I wouldn't recommend it. The person who helped me was very friendly, and I did see some appealing-looking orange chicken, but I was really craving good rice and didn’t want to drive to A-fusion to get it. I paid the price for my laziness, and I won’t be going back for such a tasteless meal again.

I have this restaurant saved on speed dial. Anyone who has dined here has always exclaimed, "That's the best [insert food item] I've ever had!" The portions are incredibly generous. I once took my dad there, and now he drives all the way from Dyer just to enjoy the delights of King Chop Suey. You should definitely check it out—you won't regret it! I only take the time to write reviews if it's either the best or the worst, and this place definitely falls into the former category. Long live the King!

Best in area. I just revisited and had some great chicken egg full young. And I know these are the best egg rolls in town. Cabbage and vege's chopped fine with a perfectly crispy wrapping. You'll love it.

We go to King Chop Suey when we want Chinese food. The Happy Family is a favorite as well as the Egg Rolls! The food is hot and freshly prepared and is a good serving for the money.
