Contribuiți la feedbackWe were five times too ricky’s for dinner. every time we were excellent service and our meals were absolutely delicious, we were full and satisfied at the end of the meal, we had burger, poutine, brat wein bark ribs short, and the philly cheese steak every time it was delicious. tonight we had some appetizers and it was the twisted nachos and the chicken teeth the chicken teeth were nicely cooked light and crispy my nachos were absolutely tasty we would recommend here for dinner every day we come from haines crossing and look forward to date night here
Poor and slow service. Other guests had mayo put on their toast instead of butter. Our meal for 6 took the better part of an hour from order till it was served. I thought that new management would change things but clearly it's just gone further down the tubes
The food was quite bland. I ordered from the happy hour specials, but the fries that came with the poutine were too mushy, and the chicken tenders were overly greasy with very little flavor. The "so good pot stickers" were not impressive either. On a positive note, the waitress was very friendly, but she was busy attending to all the tables, which caused longer wait times. I would say breakfast is better here.
Ricky's is consistently just average—a reliable spot across Canada for a decent breakfast to kick off the day. However, this Ricky's was actually Charlie's, the quintessential restaurant in Whitehorse, renowned for possibly having the best French cuisine in Canada. I used to be one of the chefs there from 1980 to 1982, and I returned today to reminisce about those times.
During our two-week stay at the hotel, we had quite a few meals, and unfortunately, not all were enjoyable. The lasagna was disappointing—the tomato sauce was gritty, and I ended up throwing most of it away. On another night, my partner ordered the braised short ribs for $25, but we received barely half a container. It was supposed to come with root vegetables, but instead we got broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots, along with a few small pieces of potatoes. The highlights of our meals were the king burger and the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato basil. Overall, the portion sizes were quite small for the prices charged. However, I must commend the staff—they were very friendly and promptly delivered our food to our room.
