Contribuiți la feedbackThird time here, lots of choices for drinks, your able to taste prior to order. Flights are the best and they have really good bar food.
Had a decent time last night at Slate however an employee ruined a chance of me ever returning. They hosted a trunk or treat for the local grade school in the back. After trick or treating with my 9yr old. My wife, and both of my kids came to the tents to eat. I ordered 3 drinks for $23 and My wife got us all food for around $65.(hamburger/chicken tenders, fries) After eating I went back inside an bought a canned beer for $17. Didn 't see any signs, wasn 't told at the counter that this is unforgivable. 10 minutes later at the table an employee, proceeds to talk to me like I 'm 8, (I 'm 50) He scolds me in front of my children and tells me You broke the rules and that 's rude and we don 't like rude people that break the rules This goes on for a couple minutes and my family was so disgusted with his behavior we left. Why Slate? ... why are you speaking down to customers publicly when the appropriate response should have been a whisper to let me know your $17 cans of beer aren 't for consumption at the brewery?
I was so excited to come here today. The vibe here is so cute during the fall season. They have a big indoor area and outdoor as well. They sell pumpkins and flowers as well. You go inside and can order food. It's not that expensive and everything is really good. Mozzarella sticks were so bomb. They have merchandise like shirts and hats. But you can also buy their beer to go as well. They have so many different flavors, and the fall flavors dominate during this time. I tried their slushies, which they say changes every week. This time was the cranberry cider. It was duo color and so delicious. Such a cool time for friends and family.
My college friend was visiting from out of state (WV) and the manager denied to serve her a drink, we are both 22, because there wasn 't a hologram on the ID. After examining my friends ID there was in fact a hologram over the state capital building on the ID. When trying to explain this to the manager she refused to listen to us and kept denying us service because she didn 't feel comfortable without even listening to our reasoning or even looking at the ID again. After this, she was talking to other bartenders and pointing at us and talking to them. Manager and bartenders are very rude and don 't want to listen to what you have to say or admit they are wrong. So if you are visiting this brewery from out of state DO NOT go here.
This place is great. The building, with garage doors that open to the grounds and fresh air are really neat. It's like a compund, with the main building, a huge outdoor tent, a sports-bar-like building, and food area. It's a good thing too, because usually when we are there the place is packed. So it's definitely a party atmosphere. The beers are great! I'm especially fond of their IPAs, including the 9lb Hammer and Galactic Hammer. They always have something new on tap, and some of my favorites have been their seasonals, like harvest and Octoberfest beers in the fall, shandies in the summer, etc... The service is fast and friendly, although you may need to wait in line at the service bar if they are busy. The only criticism I have is the food, which has been hit and miss for us. The menu is very limited, featuring mostly fried foods and burgers. The chipotle burger is good when it's cooked right, but I think it is too expensive for what you get. There are breweries in the area that have much better food, but not many that have beer this good, so you may have to decide what is more important.
