Pelican Rouge Cafe - White Rock

I love the Pelican Rouge. It's unique, cozy, and classic. I think this is an awesome place for a coffee date or to catch up with friends. The back of the cafe has a cozy little couch area, and the front has lots of natural light. Staff are friendly and helpful. They can get very busy, but the staff always handle the customers well. I'm not a fan of the big new plastic advertising they just put up (hint hint) and I prefer the various local artists they display on their walls! Always makes for a great talking point and it's lovely to look at.

New ownership so friendly! And clean! Good food in a great atmosphere. Nice spot to relax over coffee or lunch. They have a 'happy hour ' too when they serve wine but have not checked that out yet.

Home made yummy sweets and any choice of great coffee- The cafe Americano was great !There was a great local entertainer outside- GREAT IDEA FOR WHITE ROCK

We were out for a motorcycle ride and needed a destination. The Pelican was a good choice. Competent coffee (and we are definitely members of the West Coast Coffee Geekery), tasty fresh muffin, a very nice quiet spacious room, today's Globe Mail, good wifi, clean washrooms and a welcoming attitude.  And easy parking.

Vibe is better than the coffee. In an age dominated by cookie cutter coffee chains (I 'm looking at YOU, S ucks) Pelican Rouge is a nice neighbourhood y sort of place to stop for a caffeine fix. Lots of pelican themed artwork on the walls, notices about local happenings, and even though it 's in a strip shopping centre across from the big mall in White Rock, it draws a crowd that must appreciate a non generic hangout. Pelican Rouge must be doing something right.<br/ <br/ I wasn 't blown away by my cappucino it was a bit on the watery side, but I feel that way about pretty much every coffee I 've had in B.C./Washington State. My wife didn 't even finish her decaf latte, but she 's pickier than I am. Too much milk foam. <br/ <br/ It 's a shame, because we had been talking to the barista about the 'flat white ' style of coffee we used to drink in Australia where all the java 's bonzer, mate! and she was reminiscing about the great coffees she had during her four months in New Zealand. She still made us typical Pacific Northwest coffees, though. That 's fine for most people who aren 't coffee snobs like us, so I reckon Pelican Rouge is a decent place to rock up for a cuppa.
