Contribuiți la feedbackWe tried to make reservations at several of our favourite places tonight and they were all fully booked so we opted for the Stakeout as it's very large and seldom full. Tonight was no exception and they had specials of lobster. I tried the bouillabaise and it was less than wonderful-in fact mine is better made at home. My wife had the surf and turf and she said it was good. Service was exceptional but the dishes we had sure didn't knock it out of the park for a high end restaurant.
This is a very attractive restaurant- lovely décor and good atmosphere. The salads and bread were ok - nothing special but the mains were awful. My pork chop was dry and overcooked and veggies only lukewarm. Husband said his liver was very tough and only cooked on one side. I am diabetic so once I take insulin I have to eat right away. No time for sending stuff back. I didn't complain just ate what I could. My husband finished his but didn't really enjoy it. I should probably obey my own rule of only eating steak at a steak house. Since there are some pretty good reviews of this place I'm going to assume that the steaks are better but won't risk a return visit.
This is a fairly large restaurant that was empty the night we went. Ordered the prime rib - big mistake prime rib cooked in advance that is heated up. Should have know better by how many empty tables there were that night. For the price very disappointing, med rare had no pink. They should pick a prime rib night and offer something else on other nights. Salad was Ok, Waiter was an older gentleman who seemed a career waiter. Other staff should keep their discussions of other patrons and problems between themselves away from tables. Has the feel of a 70's steakhouse. Chairs are too low for the for tables felt like a little kid eating at the parents table.
Time 1435. Pompous service. Very nice decor. Nonetheless we tried to lunch: Merlo wine was fine. Salads Garden and Caesars were much above average. We asked for Pickerel (a sort of fish as Google told me) and 12 oz. Prime rib Steak (medium to well). They were both prize dishes value for money. I only wonder where have sat lunch and dinner gone. They are under link in menu.
Good friend suggested we watch the NCAA Basketball final and grab some food. What I wasn't expecting was food and service that was beyond great, even for a Monday night! Shrimp cocktail was perfect. Warm bread very fresh. Ceasar salad, one of the best anywhere. Got to the 16oz Ribeye and couldn't believe how good it was. This restaurant is tucked away in a non-descript strip mall on Main St. WS. It's every bit as good as any restaurant in Toronto or any other part of the country. Weird thing is its casual one side and fine dining other side but same great food. If you want GREAT food at reasonable prices this is 4.75/5.0. (Only issues: Expresso was warm and triple was small Dessert ok) Will be back as a routine.
