Sunrise - Whitby

August 3rd, 2021. 7 PM ordered with a nice young lady on the phone. I am so glad I got a different perspective of this place. I've seen many reviews about this place and it was literally a cold hard decision because there's not many places up here in Durham, that serves Caribbean foods. But for what it's worth.. it was a great experience for me. The food was awesome. I got a curry goat and 2 oxtail dinners w/ rice and peas, a large serving of slaw, dumplings, and plantains.I'm not all about the plantains here because it was a bit oily, but the dumplings and dinners were bomb. The severing was quite filling. I give it a 5 stars ????

This is my 2nd time ordering from this location. Having had an order cancelled a few days ago and waiting 5 days to return my money I decided to try again this evening. I was so not impressed . How hard is it to change the uber to notify customers that you do not have a product. They accept your order take your money then tell you to substitute. Well fine if youd get the order correct . Ordered 4 meals and 3 were completely wrong.It's a total disappointment when I orderfrom.Courtice store and every time there is never a problem. I wont visit the Whitby location ever again !!!

Ordered Fried chicken from ubereats yesterday and I have to say it's the best fried chicken I have had in a long time. Was skeptical before ordering because of the poor reviews but oh the fried the chicken was amazing.

On August 3rd, 2021 at 7 PM, I placed my order with a pleasant young lady over the phone. I am thrilled to have had a different perspective of this restaurant. Despite the numerous reviews I had read, I had been hesitant to try it as there are not many places in Durham that offer Caribbean cuisine. However, I must say that it was a wonderful experience for me. The food was excellent. I ordered a curry goat and two oxtail dinners with rice and peas, accompanied by a generous portion of slaw, dumplings, and plantains. While the plantains were a bit oily for my liking, the dumplings and dinners were outstanding. The servings were quite generous and satisfying. I would rate my experience with 5 stars.

The food was delicious and I appreciated the honesty of the staff when they didn't have enough fried chicken for a large order, so they made it a medium instead.
