Contribuiți la feedbackIn September 2022 I complained about Room 315. When ever the water was drained from the basin in the bathroom, water with black bits and smelling foul would come up in the shower outlet. The receptionist at the time, told me it was my fault and not to fill the basin. In October I posted a review on Tripadvisor and wrote a letter to Bespoke Hotels head office,(the management company for Coast and Country Hotels. No one has bothered to respond.
I just spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel with my 11 year old grandson. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Bar staff, reception, waiting staff and cleaners. A very reasonable priced bar. We had a twin sea view room number 314. Room was spotless. 2 comfortable beds. Huge room. Beautiful view. Breakfast was great. Self service. Entertainment on last night was lovely. I would recommend and will definitely visit again.
Awful place. Rooms looked nothing like the photos booked and were very dated and furniture falling apart. Music really loud even three floors up. Staff were beyond miserable. Manager very unhelpful.
Our room was a tiny double on the top floor…first impression was very run down. We entered the room which was stifling hot but luckily we had bought our dyson fan from home, we plugged it in, closed the curtains then went out, when we went back to the room at night we noticed someone had been in…no fan on but the TV was on, immediately we weren’t happy so my husband went stomping down to reception unaware that the electric had tripped out which I found out myself by plugging the kettle in…it seemed if two things were plugged into a double socket, which was the wooden dressing table with an extension lead fixed into the old unit….it tripped all the sockets out in the room in other rooms on the same floor. This was of no use to us as my husband has a sleep apnea machine which he has to wear every night….we were told that the electrician had been couldn’t find a reason for everything tripping but the hotel staff would check it every 30 minutes reset it…OMG but in the meantime my husband could die in his sleep!! Luckily eventually the guy on reception moved us to another room along on the same floor….it was much bigger but still awful, honestly it was like going back in time, how on earth are these places still open or even allowed to be open. The shower had hardly any power, there was a big window above the bath where the shower was, it had no blind or privacy glass to keep you private, there were 3 slats of wood across, obviously you stop young children falling out but whilst I was showering in the bath I held onto one which fell off in my hand. Honestly we were so glad to leave!! This was our first holiday in two years because of COVID-19, it’s been 20 years since we stayed anywhere in the UK to be honest in all the places we’ve been during this holiday, Oxford, Weymouth, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bath…all hotels are very similar, very old dated which to be honest should be closed down, I really don’t know how they stay open at all!!
Just returned from our first Leger holiday. Instructed to join coach at Lymm Services 8.am. Shearings liveried coach arrived promptly at 08.00 hrs. Good start. 08.45am. not moved a wheel, taxi delay given as the reason. Managed one 15 min break 11.00am. arrive at Tamworth Services for transfer to Tour coach. Driver advises a 30 to 45 min delay to reposition hold luggage . 12.30pm. All vestiges of a ‘Shearings’ holiday disappeared as we boarded an antiquated vehicle which had long passed its fifth birthday. Coach was totally unsuitable for a long distance journey. No dropdown tables probably due to the restricted leg room, over tight seatbelts that when engaged literally jammed you rigidly into the seat making impossible to move. The seats themselves were uncomfortable making the whole trip difficult. Both the Feeder Tour coaches where almost full to capacity, no social distancing in sight. The same hotel was used. This was one of several ex Shearings hotel purchased following the demise of the original Shearings company. Rooms were serviced before after occupation, which was due to the prevailing covid restrictions. Obviously being run with a reduced staff, which translated to a very slow restaurant service. Food was edible. Please be aware that one of the included trips to a local Tank Museum does NOT include the entrance fee of £15.00pp. A fact that is not mentioned in the itinerary nor by the driver until we arrived. All together a poor first experience.
