This is not the first review of Sean Og's, but it will probably be the last as nothing seems to have changed. One point I need to address is that the address on TripAdvisor is incorrect. It is NOT in Wexford town, it is in Kilmuckridge and is now part of Upton Court Hotel and Holiday Homes. The hotel used to be called Sean Og's. We had dinner there while staying at the Holiday Homes. One dinner was enough. My Pork Medallions were okay but seemed reheated. My wife's Stir Fry was a strange concoction of rubbery chicken, chopped up Chinese cabbage, and an inedible sweet chili sauce. The staff were lovely, but unfortunately, this does not make up for the poor food. The waitress mentioned that the food may take a while as it is cooked to order, but it is actually prepared/reheated to order and the result is not good. We would have spent more on food if it had been better. Sean Og's missed out on a large family expenditure. One last thing I noticed on the specials board was "Supreme of Chicken, stuffed with prawns, wrapped in Parma ham and served with a white cream sauce." I'll let you decide if that sounds appetizing.
Sean Og's is a restaurant located within a hotel complex, but this review focuses solely on the bar/restaurant. We decided to stop here when we were feeling hungry and far from our accommodations. Despite the slightly worn appearance, the venue intentionally creates an old bar ambiance. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The food was good, with my nephew enjoying a delicious beef dish while my wife and I were satisfied with our sandwiches, which were quite filling on their own. My son found his beefburger a bit overcooked but still tasty. The bill came to around 60 Euros, which felt a bit pricey considering we only had soft drinks and water. I would like to return and try the dinner menu next time, as it looked quite appealing.
Arrived as a small group of 3 to a pleasant welcome and quickly seated. Bruschetta and soup ordered for starters and all delicious. Fish n chips and peas kindly swapped for beans, roast beef and the lamb, again all delicious, 3 desserts order and again plates cleaned. There is a large menu with a very good variety of options and prices are what you’d expect to pay. On the whole delicious food with friendly and efficient staff. Would recommend.
This is the bar and and restaurant attached to the hotel in Kilmuckridge. Pleasant enough surroundings and very good prompt service. There were three of us. We had roast beef, chicken curry, and stuffed chicken. The beef and stuffed chicken came with mashed potato and mixed vegetables. The portions were generous but not overwhelming. The mashed potato was particularly nice. For dessert we had carrot cake and meringue with fruit and cream. It was all tasty and the staff were pleasant. I would return.
