I want to start by highlighting how fantastic the waiter was. Simone was truly wonderful. The food was excellent, and the desserts and green tea shots were a hit too. My family of 16 had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday, and I would recommend this place to everyone—10 out of 10! Thank you for everything!
We also ordered Guksu, which are spicy glass noodles. Personally, I didn’t enjoy them; I found them soggy and bland, but my best friend liked them a lot. We also decided to indulge in Korean BBQ, ordering a variety of meats: pork belly, lobster, and bulgogi. I skipped the pork belly since it’s not to my taste, but everyone else said it was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster and bulgogi; both were fantastic. All the side dishes they served with the meal were excellent too—I loved the variety. They even offer a salad option to create your own salad wraps, which were surprisingly delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service is outstanding. It felt like there were no servers—everyone worked together to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was an incredible experience and one of the best nights out. We will definitely be coming back!
The cucumber martini was delicious, but the lovely song martini was truly exceptional. However, the restaurant is quite pricey; even with a $40 off Groupon, our total was still around $80, which would have been $120 without the deal, including tax. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that impressive. I would recommend this place for enjoying drinks and the scenery, but not for dinner.
I use an optical shop right around the corner of this place. I always saw the Southport location, but I had no idea there was a difference. Westports location specializes in Korean BBQ, while Southport specializes in more noodle dishes. I found it interesting in the face of this hidden situation. I stopped an afternoon for lunch and was not disappointed. Now I had Korean BBQ in NYC and I would say that is very close. I admit the pages are all delicious and never end. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive during lunchtime. We ordered the Bulgogi and the pig belly and it was a great combination. I enjoy sitting on our hot tip, with little to no exhaust over you, as your food cooked. We finished things with their fried ice cream, which is very tasty and filled with crispy tempura. I recommend meeting this place for a late lunch before dinner. I can see it is packed after 5:00. If you're in the area, give Wafu Westport a shot. You will not be disappointed!!
