Bennett's Fish Shack - Westport

The clam chowder was excellent! The grilled salmon was flavorful, but it could have been served warmer. While it didn’t taste as fresh as we had hoped—probably because there was fresh fish being sold just across the street—I'm still giving it a five-star rating overall.

Fantastic service, generous portion sizes, and a pleasant atmosphere. Enjoying a meal on the deck was lovely. However, I found the clam chowder to be somewhat bland. Prices felt a bit on the higher side, but the large portions made it a fair value.

I have to say, I'm really glad the first restaurant we stopped at was out of clam chowder. We continued on until we discovered this hidden gem, and wow, was it a great find! The clam chowder was some of the best I've ever had—rich and creamy, bursting with flavor. The fish and chips were also exceptional; it's been a while since I've had such delicious fish and chips that practically melted in my mouth. I must also give a shout-out to the person who took our order. She suggested we try the fried cheese curds, and agreeing to that was probably one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. These cheese curds are not your typical ones; they're perfection in cube form. I can't describe them any other way. I even dipped them in my chowder, and it brought a single tear to my eye!

Bennett's is a fish shack on the pier/main strip. This is probably the best food in town. Super quick, made to order and fresh, amazing and friendly service, and delicious food. It is on the pricier side but not by much, although the portion sizes are very big. They get extremely busy most parts of the day, but food comes out so fast you barely realize it. They allow dogs and kids inside so its a win for everyone. Couldn't recommend this more if you're in Westport near the marina.

It was packed when we went but the service was great and we got our food quickly!! I had the cod combo which came with 2 beautifully breaded pieces of cod, the most amazing clam strips I've ever had and fries. The tartar and cocktail sauce were perfect!!! My kids all had clam chowder and they loved it. Highly recommend!! But be prepared to spend a bit. My combo was 19.99. I went with my mom and my 3 kids and the bill was most 80 dollars.
