1958 Cuban Cuisine - Westfield

The food at this restaurant was fantastic. I ordered the churrasco la cubana and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the ropa vieja and it was also delicious. Our waiter, John, provided excellent service. We finished our meal with cafe con leche and coconut bread pudding, making for a great overall dining experience.

During our visit to New Jersey, we decided to try out the Cuban cuisine in the area. We were impressed by this restaurant. The decor was lovely, the service was efficient and professional, and the food was incredibly tasty and true to its roots. We ordered the breaded steak with white rice and sweet plantains, as well as the appetizer sampler. For dessert, we enjoyed a tres leches cake and a cafe con leche. We hope to return to this restaurant someday.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The owner and manager were incredibly kind to my group of 15. They even joined us at our table for a chat! The oxtails were delicious, though they were a bit pricey at $40 per serving when I tried them in May 2022. We sat outside in the lovely 70-degree weather, which made for the perfect dining experience. Everyone at the table seemed to thoroughly enjoy their meal, as there wasn't a crumb left on any plate. I regret not taking any pictures before we dug in!

My friend and I went today for a lovely lunch with my service dog???????? The staff couldn’t be nicer in welcoming us and giving us a nice quiet seat by the window. Food was good value and delicious and we loved the tres leches cake for dessert. Weenjoyed the laid back ambience and location slightly away from the center of town as lots of parking but still nearby.Thoroughly good experience and we will be back.

We wanted to have a nice get together over delicious food when my friend recommended this spot. We love Cuban food so this wasn't a hard sell. We were worried about the time limit of 1h 45m but our appetizers, entrees and drinks came out in a timelyfashion. There was music in the background but it wasn't blasting so, we chatted comfortably. The chef was in the back and veryfriendly as he came out to greet every table. Our waiter and host checked on us often and everything was good. The food wastasty. One dish of oxtail was soooo tender, fall off the bone tender. My shrimp with rice and Maduro was so on point. My friendloved her chicken dish and decided to save some for later since she was full and it was so flavorful. Nice experience allaround. We were worried about parking but found lots of street parking on a Sunday. We were having such a good time, I almostforgot to take pics.
