Ocean House Events Westerly

We attended the Character Brunch and had mixed feelings about the experience. The staff was friendly and the service met the standards expected from the Ocean House. Unfortunately, the food fell short. The only standout item was the made-to-order omelets. The rest of the buffet offerings, while creatively named and aimed at children, were served cold and lacked flavor. The Mickey Mouse pancakes had little pancake taste and were chilly, the French toast sticks were hard and cold, and the tater tots were old and tough. Although the dessert selection looked appealing, the taste was just average. On a positive note, they did serve hot or iced coffee (from Dave’s), which was quite good. The character performances and meet-and-greet were a highlight; the characters did an excellent job entertaining and engaging with the kids. I was fortunate to grab two small bags of popcorn on the way out since we all left feeling hungry. Given that the brunch cost $300 and we left unsatisfied, I probably won’t return for the Character Brunch. However, I've had positive experiences at their Sunday jazz brunch in the past and would be open to trying that again.

Everything was wonderful, but I would have appreciated having live Christmas music played on the grand piano in the space.

The ambiance of the hut was lovely, but unfortunately, we were unable to hear the beautiful Christmas music due to children banging on the keys of the piano that was present.

Brunch on Christmas Eve…service was outstanding. Food was…fine. Nothing stood out as especially amazing. Nothing was not good, it’s just that for the price, I expected better. Our past Christmas Eve experiences at Ocean House far surpassed this one.
