The Oak - West Virginia

There aren't enough stars to rate this amazing place. First of all, the 600 year old Oak Tree out front is breathtaking. Then you enter this beautiful restaurant and are greeted by the great staff. We enjoyed an incredible view from our table, and our server, Candace, was so informative and personable, and gave us top notch service. My wife and I are from Pittsburgh, Pa. We go to nice restaurants frequently there. From the time, we walked in the door, All the staff was friendly and smiles. We had reservations and our table was ready and we had the best seat, watching geese and their Horse, as well as the beautiful scenery which includes a tree that you would only think of in the west coast, HUGE. We took our 2 sons and daughter out for a celebratory meal last night at the Oak and had the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. My husband ordered the prime rib and my son ordered the filet. Both ordered medium rare. The steaks came and both were over cooked- no big deal. Sent them back and were having a fun family conversation. A woman holding her purse approached the table and asked what was wrong with the steaks. (We had no idea who she was). Food was delicious. Very good quality. Server was very attentive even though restaurant was very crowded. Desserts were delicious.

Excellent restaurant, food was excellent, service was excellent! Will be back when we are in this area. Our server was Lake very nice young man.
