Monroy's Mexican - West Tawakoni

Pretty bland. The chips and salsa was good. The service was good too. Not enough to make up for the poor taste of the food.

Many people may disagree with me, but the food at this place is very bland for Tex-Mex. The salsa was only okay. The house margarita was awful and the strawberry daiquiri was way too sweet to drink. I had nachos and was wondering where the spice was. My kid got the chicken strips with Mexican fries. The Mexican fries are not cooked well and my kids didn't like them. The food is fair. Not bad, but not impressive. The tea was good though.

All around , excellent best fajitas i have had in years

The food is delicious, but the cheese they use is too oily. They should try using a different type of cheese in the kitchen to find one that is less greasy.

Monroy's restaurant in West Tawakoni has permanently closed. The counter has been taken over by 2 Mile Boat and RV Camp. Monroy's was located around 12 miles northeast of Lone Oak, Texas.
