The Hood Arms - West Somerset

This pub is delightful. The staff is extremely friendly and the fish and chips were the best I've had in a long time. The batter was light and the homemade tartare sauce was delicious.

We stopped by for Sunday lunch without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the staff were, despite the restaurant being busy. From the moment we entered, every staff member was fantastic and made us feel warmly welcomed. The food was delicious, particularly the traditional roast pork and lemon sole dishes, which were also reasonably priced. We can't wait to come back again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I visited our charming and welcoming neighborhood restaurant for lunch with my dogs. My partner ordered the large fish and chips, while I had a tough time deciding from the excellent menu. Eventually, I decided to try the salt and pepper squid starter with a side of fries for my main course. Both dishes were fantastic. I highly recommend this pub, which is dog-friendly in both the bar and garden areas. For those who prefer a dog-free environment, they also have a lovely restaurant area.

After storm Eunice left hundreds of houses without power for three days, including the villagers of Kilve, we arrived at the Hood Arms for our Sunday dinner reservation unaware of the situation. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that despite the power outage, the staff at the Hood Arms had cooked a candlelit Sunday roast using gas and offered it to the local community for free. Locals who had been without power for days could warm up by the log fire and enjoy a delicious meal. While they couldn't offer luxuries like WiFi or cappuccinos, the Hood Arms showed true community spirit when other pubs had closed their doors. A special mention should be given to someone in Kilve for their dedication to serving the community during a time of need.

After a walk in the hills, we decided to dine at this restaurant conveniently located in front of a public parking lot. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the lively atmosphere. The dishes were served promptly in a buzzing bar, even during lunchtime.
