Union Family - West Seneca

If I could give this a negative review I would. My husband and I were in the area so we wanted to hit up a cute little diner. We walk into and there's a sign stating they only take cash...so that was slightly annoying..but we used the atm and found a seat. Once seated. We looked around and commented on how dark it was...like only half the lights were on or working. We looked up and the entire ceiling was covered in mold. It was very off-putting to say the least. Not to mention it was black mold. 10/10 never returning!!

Dirty, with dirty ceiling tiles from what looks to be water damage. The food was fair but there was one thing missing from the table, the little jelly packets. It was 915 on a Sunday, I asked the waitress and she told me the owner thinks people are stealing them. She brought over the little dispenser with one thing being wrong. THEY WERE ALL MIXED FRUIT. The waitress was good and efficient. Oh yes one more thing the only except cash. I wont be back. If I was asked for advice Id say paint the place paint or replace the ceiling tiles and get with the times.

This restaurant has been around for at least 25 years that I know of and today was my very first visit. It does look closed as the main sign was destroyed by weather and not repaired. It is indeed open for business! Unfortunately, a sign on the door says it’s cash only. There is an ATM on premise. It’s one way they keep their food prices very reasonable. It’s got that old dingy greasy spoon diner type of feel. One where they put their best effort into their cooking than their appearance. I ordered the “Cowboy Burger” with cream of potato soup as a side. All I can say is WOW! The soup was homemade and really good. Every aspect of the burger was nice and fresh. Yes, the grounds outside and inside could use some TLC… but this mom and pop place has managed to survive the pandemic. If they continue with their awesome food and maybe fix the sign so people besides the regulars know that they are open, I’m sure their business will thrive well into the future. I’ll definitely be back to try another dish soon.

When I walked in, I wasn't greeted or informed that I could sit anywhere, which left me standing at the door for a few minutes until someone finally mentioned I could choose a seat. The server was very polite, though. I ordered the 2+2+2 dish, but the French toast was disappointing—there was no cinnamon, and it simply tasted like bread dipped in egg and cooked, resulting in an overwhelming egg flavor. You could even see the egg whites around the edges of the bread. On a positive note, the eggs and sausage were good. My friend ordered the Banana Walnut pancakes, but unfortunately, her pancakes were undercooked. While I might return due to the inexpensive prices and quick service, the quality of the food would deter me from coming back.

The food here was incredibly disappointing. I found the dishes to be quite unappetizing, and I wouldn't recommend visiting this restaurant.
