Island Jack's Patio Grill

I started with a cold, unsweetened iced tea and decided to go with the soup of the day, which was a delicious New England clam chowder. It was full of flavor and very satisfying. For my main course, I chose the baby back ribs with a baked potato. The ½ rack was quite generous and the ribs were perfectly tender, practically falling off the bone. They weren’t drowning in sauce (although the waiter kindly brought me extra) and there was hardly any fat. The baked potato was a good size and cooked to perfection, accompanied by plenty of butter and sour cream—something I truly appreciated, as many restaurants skimp on the butter. Our waiter was not only knowledgeable about the specials and soups of the day, but he was also funny and attentive without being intrusive. The service was excellent! Even though I’ve lived just down the street from Island Jacks for years, this was my first visit. I can assure you it won’t be my last!

On my second visit, I ordered the "super hot fried chicken wings." They were decent, but not the best I’ve had; the "super hot" sauce didn't have much heat to it. The outdoor bar area is located near Okeechobee Blvd, so there can be quite a bit of road noise at times, but they occasionally feature live music, which is enjoyable. I've never gone inside; I always choose to sit on the patio or at the outdoor bar. By the way, the theme song on their website is really catchy and sticks in my head; sometimes I return to their page just to hear it again since I'm easily entertained!

The portions here are enormous, and the beer is ice-cold. I tried the fish and chips, and they were quite tasty. It was trivia night, and while the trivia host was entertaining, he did experience some technical issues with his microphone. The bartender, Dave, made a point to introduce himself to everyone who took a seat at the bar. Overall, it’s a lively bar and grill with both indoor and outdoor seating.

I ordered the cable sandwich, and it was quite disappointing. The flavors were bland, and the service was very slow. I don't think I'll be returning.

I enjoyed the delicious drinks and fantastic appetizers. The atmosphere was wonderful, and it really put me in a great mood!
