Contribuiți la feedbackI debated whether or not to write a review for this hotel, but ultimately decided to share my experience. I booked this hotel last minute because it was much cheaper than other options in the area. Unfortunately, there were quite a few negative aspects. The hotel was very run down, there was long ginger hair in my bed, the bed was lopsided and uncomfortable, the floor creaked, and the bathroom was tiny. The indoor swimming pool was empty and the gym and squash court were out of operation. There was no breakfast served during my stay, the furniture was old, and the fire alarm went off at 2am for a false alarm. On the plus side, the hotel was cheap, the receptionist was helpful, there was free WiFi, and it has a history of being owned by Keith Moon and Ronnie Barker. There is a bar onsite, free parking, and it is centrally located in Chipping Norton. There are great pubs and restaurants nearby, and David Cameron lives in the area. Overall, the hotel has potential to be amazing with some investment, but currently falls short of its former glory.
I recently enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at this restaurant. The room was spotless and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The staff and owner were lovely and friendly, always willing to help with anything. The atmosphere was warm and inviting - I will definitely be returning again.
This restaurant review is absolutely terrible, so avoid it at all costs. The room was clean, but there was a space between the wall and the bed that was difficult to navigate around, possibly violating health and safety rules. The room entrance was directly across from the kitchen extractor fans, so cooking smells were pumped directly into the room, forcing us to keep the windows shut even in the bathroom. I accidentally spilled tea on the bed in the morning, and the maid made the bed with the soaking wet sheet. The heating in the room and bathroom did not work despite being told it would warm up over time. The hotel has definitely seen better days, and there are much better places to stay than this one. I was very disappointed with my experience.
We went here for Sunday lunch with friends. The hotel’s website clearly states they offer all you can eat banquet for £11.95. When we arrived we were presented with a menu for Sunday roast £5.95 starter and £14.95 roast no mention of the all you can eat banquet. We asked the waiter (whose English was poor) about this, showing him the menu on the website. First he said that it was not the right website for the hotel. I showed him that it clearly was. Then he said it was an old menu!! Why are they advertising an old menu on their website?! No mention on the website of the menu we were given. Garlic mushrooms looked like a soup. Roast potatoes had skin still on and were a greyish colour. Cauliflower cheese was runny. Yorkshire pudding was a bread like consistency. Only good thing was the meat. There was no breakdown of the bill it came on a tablet and when we asked the waitress she didn’t understand what we were asking for. Very disappointing and will not be returning. Would NOT recommend.
A lovely quiet hotel in the heart of the town, which still has a historical feel. I only booked for one night so didn't get chance to sample the food or other amenities but the room was very clean and comfortable and I had the best night's sleep in ages.
