Woody's Bbq - West Melbourne

Woody's BBQ did an excellent job catering for our recent school event for 60 people. The macaroni and cheese, sliced turkey, fries, and desserts were a huge hit! Mike and Nick were incredibly helpful in recommending portion sizes for the meats and sides. They even labeled the tops of the containers, as I requested for easy identification at the event. They assisted me in loading my SUV, although they do offer delivery for $20. They also provided utensils, BBQ sauces, and ketchup. The students devoured the mac and cheese, turkey, fries, and banana pudding. On a personal note, my wife and I have dined at Woody's and couldn't resist voting for their incredible coconut cream pie—it's out of this world, just like the banana pudding!

I ordered some ribs and veggies for my girlfriend, and she said they were excellent. Unfortunately, I had the flu and couldn't eat, but Sissy mentioned it was the best BBQ in Melbourne.

I've visited this restaurant for dinner on two different occasions. The first time, I had the rib dinner with collard greens and black-eyed peas. During my second visit, I opted for the sampler dinner, which included ribs, turkey, chicken, and beef, along with collard greens and fried okra. Unfortunately, the meat on both visits was just average and lacked the smoky flavor I was hoping for. However, the sides were excellent. I personally prefer the mustard BBQ sauce over the sweet BBQ sauce.

I have to go back and try that sloppy holly recommended in the rating below.. The other things were average.

Pert good BBQ. They are a tomato based BBQ place with a couple mustard sauces on the table. The sloppy woody is a sandwich one must experience in person. The ribs (both styles) are done well. The pulled pork is moist and flavorful. The banana pudding is good. The fried okra and collard greens are done true southern style. Over all its a good value for the BBQ is subject best not discussed as people are as passionate about it as they are about religion, politic and child rearin'.
