Contribuiți la feedbackIxtapa offers typical Americanized Mexican cuisine. The decor is charmingly ethnic, and the menu features all the standard dishes, but nothing particularly stands out. My cousin ordered the Chili Verde while I opted for the Enchiladas de Espinacas. Both portions were generous, but it seemed he enjoyed his dish more than I did mine. My enchiladas, packed with spinach and cheese and topped with guacamole and sour cream, were soggy and lacked flavor. The side of beans tasted like they came straight from a can. Overall, the dinner experience was just mediocre. Additionally, being addressed as "senorita" (despite being a guy) felt a bit off. The final bill came to $36 plus tip, which included a bottle of Modelo for me and a soda for him. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.
The chips were thin, crispy, and had a clean taste. The salsa was served at room temperature, which I appreciated because cold salsa often loses its flavor. It had a nice level of heat, a pleasant hint of Mexican oregano, and overall was a decent version of this type of salsa—see the picture. The guacamole was fresh and had a strong avocado flavor. The beans and rice were pretty standard, typical of many American-Mexican restaurants. The chili relleno was enjoyable, although the cheesy filling felt a little light and unusual. The service was friendly, helpful, and quick. Overall, it’s a nice place.
We dined at Ixtapa once before the COVID pandemic and thought it was quite good. Since then, it has become our favorite restaurant. The food comes out hot and delicious every time. I especially enjoy the chicken tamale and recently requested mole sauce instead of red sauce, which was a great choice. We’re also big fans of the Burrito de Asada and the Enchiladas de Mole. I often find myself craving their dishes!
We moved to west linn in late 2018. Took a while to get over to ixtapa. When we finally did, it was amazing. This was just prior to Covid hitting. Service was some of the best I've had in a long time. Kids ordered quesadillas and tacos.I had beers with fajitas. Unfortunately, the state COVID mandates killed this restaurant along with so many others. RIP ixtapa. Now we're stuck with more expensive, subpar Mexican food around the corner and up the hill.
Our family loves this place for recent Covid option take-out. They are fast and friendly and the food has been great. Love the fajita burrito, which is huge, and my kids love the kids' chicken quesadilla meal.
