Contribuiți la feedbackThree of us had lunch at the restaurant and we were impressed by the young girl who seemed to be running the show on her own. She handled everything – taking orders, serving drinks, and waiting on tables – with efficiency. Although there was someone in the kitchen, the young girl was the one who really stood out. Despite there being about 12 to 15 customers, the food was not as impressive as the service. I ordered a medium rare steak, but it seemed to have been microwaved. The only saving grace was that the chips were good.
My family and I visited this restaurant while camping nearby. There were 3 adults and 3 children in our group and we were seated right away. We ordered at the bar after looking at the menu and although there was a bit of a wait for our food, we were all very pleased with the portions, which were piping hot and delicious. The only downside was that when two members of our group couldn't finish their meals, we requested to take the leftovers home but were told it wasn't possible due to concerns about food safety. Despite this disappointment, we still enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and found the prices to be great for the quality of food.
Booked a table for 8 at 6pm on Saturday as we thought it might be busy. However when we arrived the booking had been cancelled, but not by us. We did not worry however as the pub and restaurant area were almost empty. There were two young children with us and they were able to play without annoying other customers. We ordered mainly from the 2 for £16 menu, such as fish and chips and large Yorkshire pudding. It took a while to get our food, but this was a good sign as all food was freshly cooked. All of the orders looked good and were very tasty. Even the children ate most of their meals, which is unusual when eating out. The pub was clean and tidy, the one staff member was friendly and efficient. Really not able to fault the Falconer, apart from the lack of atmosphere usually provided by a full pub. Will definitely return.
This was my first visit to the restaurant and I was a little nervous. I was pleased to find out that it was open to non-members. The service was polite and friendly, which was a nice touch. The menu looked very appetizing and I decided to order the haddock and chops. My partner ordered the cod in a sauce with vegetables and new potatoes. The presentation of the dishes was lovely and they tasted delicious. I thought everything was perfect, but my partner would have liked the vegetables to have a bit more flavor. The restaurant was very quiet and the music playing was MTV hits, which didn't seem to be appreciated by anyone. Despite that, I really enjoyed my experience and since the restaurant is close by, I will definitely visit again.
The huge TV was the only thing alive and far too loud... The barman (owner) was barely civil and couldn't be bothered to serve... When wanting to place an order, he disappeared when he returned, he said it was too late to place an order.... It was 8.45 the menu states last food orders at 9... we only wanted a desert he said the kitchen was closed but we saw people in there. He then took the order when it eventually arrived, it didn't taste anything like the description as the microwave had zapped the flavour... It's such a shame that one person can blight the reputation of a formerly good place to eat. If you can't be bothered, there are plenty of people who can why not employ one of them start to turn a profit???? It's the second time my friend had been when they have turned off the lights before she reached her car meaning she had to fumble in pitched darkness for her keys... not very friendly or helpful or safe.
