Miller And Carter - West Lancashire

3.5 Stars The Service I've never had a bad experience with the service at The Miller Carter. The staff are trained to be attentive but not pushy and the whole dining experience was lovely and relaxed. The Facilities This restaurant itself was clean and despite needing a bit of an update, it is very well maintained and smelled amazing from opening the lobby doors. Unfortunately the ladies toilets were disgusting. One toilet had overflowed and another was filthy. We had to wait a while to go in part way through our meal. The Starter Really lovely calamari and prawn and avocado cocktail. The main meal steaks and sides cooked to perfection as always. Beautiful merlot accompaniment as well. Miller and Carter always delivers on steaks. The desert my mum and I both ordered sticky toffee pudding which we ate about half of but gave up because ultimately, it was freezing cold in the middle and mine was definitely raw. No sticky toffee sauce either. Very disappointed. Overall experience we had a lovely time but the deserts and facilities knocked a few stars off.

We have been to the Miller and Carter in Aughton a number of times over the years and have always enjoyed a great meal at a reasonable price. Things did not start well when we saw a drainage contractor van on the car park and were told at the reception that the ladies toilets were out of use. Nothing was said about the temperature in the restaurant. The staff as always were friendly and efficient and our orders were taken in a timely manner. My steak came almost rare despite being ordered as medium and a further 10 minute wait ensued whilst it was re cooked. While waiting I commented that it felt a little cold in the restaurant and when we paid I mentioned this to a member of staff only to be told that there was no heating in the restaurant as the boiler was not working. Our lunch cost £60+ for a main course, a couple of drinks and coffee, not great value for money given the issues experienced. Hopefully today was just a bad day at the office.

Went to the Miller and Carter for lunch. The last few times we have been there for Fish. It seems as though it’s just out of a packet and not fresh fish never used to be like that we went for my wife’s birthday in September 3 people had the fish and it was exactly the same.

What a lovely time we've had today at this venue. Lovely staff friendly, efficient and welcoming. Delicious food, very reasonable lunch time menu. Under £20 for 3 courses.

Beautiful restaurant, Excellent service, amazing food , no better steak anywhere,will be back very soon.
