Maru Sushi - West Lafayette

We went for dinner and had sushi. Sushi was great, but our server was rude. She almost took our plates before we could finish our food. Didn’t like that. Had crab mushroom and tuna sushi everything tasted great.

Brightly-lit restaurant is not doing the place any favors as it feels sterile. Would be great to have a little more ambience and some dimmer lighting. They offer beer, wine and sake. Sake was nice and hot which was a pleasure! Food was good. Sushi was solid, not the best, not the worst. Very standard sushi. The hot stone bowl was good but not 100% authentic, as it lacked the little side dishes. Note it came with some steamed broccoli and some shredded root veg but lacked the other sides (kimchi, potatoes etc) that normally accompany a hot stone bowl. Overall, this was a “B” grade. If I return, I’ll stick with the sushi.

Ok seriously if you like Sushi, or just trying it for the first time.. go here! The food is amazing and very authentic. you will not be disappointed Update 2023 Best Sushi in Lafayette IN, probably in the whole state to be honest.

Great choice for sushi, can be busy when the students are in town. No frills atmosphere makes it easy for families.
