My friend had made reservations for dinner to celebrate my birthday, with the added promise of a spectacular view. The reservation was initially set for 7:00, but after confirming, we were told it would be at 7:30 instead, which we understood. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were told they were no longer serving food. When we mentioned our reservation for 7:30, the staff’s demeanor changed and they searched through their book before informing us they needed to speak to the manager. It became clear that our names were not on the reservation list. After the manager returned, we were told the chef was sick and wouldn’t be back for an hour, but we could still have drinks. We decided not to stay, unsure if the chef would even return. It left me questioning the validity of our original reservation, who confirmed it over the phone, and if the chef was truly sick.
The service at this restaurant is very friendly and attentive. Their new menu offers a wide variety of options for every palate. We started with the brittle spit as an appetizer and it was a must try! The beer-battered tacos were absolutely amazing, the best I've ever had. The bark meat bath was also delicious. We can't wait for our next meal here!
We played golf here and decided to stay for cocktails and dinner. They do have a Happy Hour but only geared towards wine and beer drinkers! Michelle was our server and did a great job and she was fun to talk to about the area...and things to do'! We both ordered the Sirloin Steak and it was grilled to order with roasted new potatoes and a mix of multi-colored carrots....all declious! The Caesar dinner salad was one of the best ever! Portion sizes were good and a little pricey but not overly pricey. It's a great location for larger parties and the deck with the current temps was comfortable with outstanding views to the lake. Enjoy!
I had lunch with a few friends at The Courses and it was very satisfying. The lunch menu is well priced and portions are generous- the Chicken Club on choice of bread was my choice and it was tasty and filling without being crusty or...soggy rye bread is A1). Homemade soup with sandwich is also a great option and the choice changes daily. The dining room is quiet, cool and spacious but if you like outdoor dining, the covered balcony has beautiful views. Service is prompt and pleasant- I highly recommend this spot for a tasty lunch with lots of variety, at a reasonable price!
Normally I do not like restaurants at golf courses. They tend to be overpriced and not particularly enjoyable. This one certainly bucked that trend and I am glad I went. I went with7 colleagues for our monthly lunch. The restaurant had just reopened after the...winter, so it was not very busy, which meant we got very good service. The restaurant looks out over the lake and you could not tell you were at a golf course. The menu was varied and very reasonably priced. I had a BBQ smokey and fries, with a BC dark draught beer, for $20 with a decent tip. I liked that the beer selection included many BC beers with which I was not familiar, as I like to try new tastes. Everyone else enjoyed as well. All in all, a pleasant lunch. My only minor quibble was that I had trouble finding the place, and better signage and better on-line directions would have been helpful. Enjoy.
