However, the donuts have just been downsized, and the ones I purchased were only slightly larger than ordinary donuts but at a price about 2 to 3 times higher. I'd recommend finding either the secret recipe that makes everybody want to come back and pay for a donut or making the donuts larger to make it so people don't feel like they are paying a super donut's price in exchange for an average donut.
Okay to start off they had 2 donut options maple and strawberry ? with sprinkles) and they only had 3 strawberry ones left. I asked for a frappe… they said they didn’t have milk. For a place that only has 2 food options not to have either coffee or donuts ? I’m confused. There was no indoor seating- only outdoor but that was fine. Ate our donuts- were given no napkins and there was no trash can near by. Not to mention the donuts tasted like I bought them at Walmart and bought Betty Crocker frosting to go on top of them. Just was super disappointed : the other family that came in just left without purchasing anything to discover also that they had nothing to sell. The staff was super sweet tho- hope my review helps. :
I have been going to Hola Lotta for several and never disappointed. Yesterday was a different story. There were only a few selections, there were no doughnut holes available, and the $34 I spent on a dozen were at least a day old despite what the person behind the counter told me. It was interesting to note that while the selection was poor and the doughnuts hard, there sis seem to be conversations happening in the back that did not seem to fit the need for making more and fresher doughnuts.Very disappointing especially since this was a big holiday weekend coming up!
I used to love coming to this shop when in Ashe visiting family. It had been a while, and I was excited to drive into town early and grab some doughnuts for the family. I was, unfortunately, disappointed. Staff were not super friendly from the get-go, could definitely tell they weren't really happy to be there, and everyone has bad days, so I'll give them that. Next, they have a large list of doughnuts but did not have most of the ones I asked about and NO fritters at the time. The biggest disappointment being NO glazed on a Saturday morning, and it wasn't cause they were super busy either, I was told it would be at least 30 minutes before they had any. There was one other customer in the shop when I was there who tried to order some coffee, and she was told that, in this doughnut and coffee shop, they didn't have any milk of any kind. The doughnuts I did get were good, unfortunately lost most of their toppings on the bags they were thrown into because they don't have box's for those doughts with lots of easily knocked of toppings If you are in town and want a doughnut stop by, but don't go out of your way unless you call ahead would be my advice.
Donuts were very dry tastless and overpriced ant the milk was sour very poor experience next time Dunkin’ donuts
