Jimmies of Savin Rock - West Haven

My mother and I were with jimmies today and always had a wonderful time! at our last visit we had the failure that was excellent, and mom had a manhattan with maker’s mark. today we had fish and chips together with freshly brewed dekaf and the chocolate lava cake. wonderful! our waitress was very attentive. the prospects are spectacular!

Lots of great seafood from a huge menu. A friendly staff are generally attentive to you. A great location on the West Haven shore; mere feet from the surf.

Great food. Good service decent pricing based on market price values.

Old school restaurant vibe. Wife ordered a lobster roll which she said was good. I ordered their spicy fried chicken sandwich... Came on a bun with lettuce and tomato and a side of homemade potato chips, coleslaw and a couple of pickle slices. No sauce or mayo or anything to make it not seem boring. Chicken was about twice the size of the bun had no heat at all. Was ok for a regular fried chicken sandwich but it felt like it needed something else. Had a Brownie Sundae for dessert which was very good.

Use to be favorite restaurant. Birthday dinner for Mom waitress dropped one of the four meals on the floor so they had to remake. No offer for comp (food, snack while remake being made. When Bill arrived: Auto gratuity added of 15% charge for alcohol in lemonade which was only suppose to be raspberry flavoring when asked about it waitress said our friend (who does not speak good English asked for liqueur which none of us heard since we were helping her. Turns out the Stoli was vodka and not a liqueur. Did not add up at all especially since there were two of us not drinking alcohol. Waitress immediately said she'd take the charge off. We're still shaking our heads over this. Not that we were looking for some type of comp because of the ruined meal but there was nothing no discount, offer of dessert, coupon, etc. offered. The GOOD part is the birthday girl (97 had stuffed sole that she really enjoyed that night and as reheated (in in foil in oven 15 min 350° the next night.
