Iishin Ramen - West Haven

The atmosphere is delightful, and the food is delicious! I highly recommend iishin ramen to anyone who loves ramen. They offer a wide variety of dishes to enjoy, not just ramen.

This restaurant is incredible! The food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. The Signature Iishin Ramen was amazing—rich and hearty, with perfectly cooked noodles. The pork and broth were exceptional. The Chicken Karaage was also cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. A delightful surprise was a sample dish the staff brought out; my wife and I were astonished to discover it was tofu! I’ve never tried it before, but if it’s like this, I wouldn’t mind having it again. My daughter enjoyed it so much that she had seconds! Overall, the atmosphere is quiet and cozy, and the staff is warm and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back!

The seafood ramen was fantastic, and the service was excellent. Prices are reasonable; my bowl was $16, while most others were priced around $13 or $14. A glass of wine costs $7. The dining area was clean, and there was plenty of parking available in the lot next to the restaurant.

Have you ever tasted food so incredibly delicious that you paused, as if someone pressed the pause button on a remote control, just to soak in the moment and appreciate how fortunate you were to be enjoying such a meal? That perfectly captures my feelings about iishin ramen. They are simply fantastic! My husband and I have been back several times—purely for research, of course—and everything we've tried (various types of ramen, takoyaki, tempura, and even unagi) has been incredible. The portion sizes are very reasonable for the prices, and the waiter is a gem—attentive and pleasant. My husband, who has traveled to Japan for work, says the food here tastes just like what he experienced overseas—very authentic. 5/5 stars! This is my favorite place to eat, whether in West, North, or New Haven.

This is a fantastic restaurant with a clean environment and friendly staff. The appetizers were delicious and served in generous portions. We tried the karaage, tempura, and vegetable gyoza, and the karaage was probably the standout dish among the three. The ramen was also excellent; the noodles were flavorful and maintained their texture in the soup. However, the broth was a bit on the salty side. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit!
