Chiquita Queen - West Haven

I ordered a Salvadoran quesadilla, but it was burnt on the bottom. They replaced it with another one, but unfortunately, the flavor didn't match what I expected from a traditional Salvadoran quesadilla. Additionally, when I checked out, I noticed they overcharged me; the price was supposed to be five dollars, but my bill came to seven dollars. So, if you visit this restaurant, be sure to examine your bill carefully. They also automatically add a charge for customer service, which is essentially an additional tip. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 10.

However, when we finally received the bill, I noticed a 15% gratuity had been added as a service charge for just the three of us, and it was calculated before taxes. I asked the server about this charge, but he simply shrugged and said, "It is what it is." I don’t appreciate having my tipping choice taken away from me. His loss, though, as I usually tip 20%. I was also frustrated that the total tax was based on an included tip. Then, when the receipt came back, I saw an additional fee for using a credit card, with no prior warning about this charge anywhere. As a result, I left feeling quite annoyed, even though I was satisfied with the food and would have been happy if it weren't for the delays and the extra fees.

The new management has revamped the menu to include delicious Salvadorean dishes. I highly recommend trying their specials, like the "Queen's Special" with chicken, beef, and shrimp, as well as the Carne Asada grilled steak, Pupusas, and their homemade Horchata.

I recently tried this restaurant for the first time, and I loved the flavors of the food! I ordered the Queen's Special, and it was amazing!

The service was outstanding, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere was clean and inviting. As a self-proclaimed taco enthusiast, I’ve sampled every taco spot in West Haven and Orange over the past two years, and these tacos are, without a doubt, the best in the area. My wife ordered the fajitas, which were also the finest we’ve had. The El Salvadoran options are a wonderful addition to this already fantastic restaurant. We love Chiquita Queen and will likely come back before the week is over.
