My husband had the Scottish breakfast which was huge and well presented. His sausage was a little tough, but everything else was very good. I had a croissant which I found a little bit dry. Coffee was excellent. It's a lovely garden centre to wonder around too.
Stopped here with friends for breakfast, full breakfast with coffe, orange juice and toast for 8.95. Well worth a visit.
WE have been here twice this week while on holiday in this area Once for cake and tea/coffee and a light bite and tea We had Cheese cake and Chocolate fudge cake first time Then today had Toasted Mozzeralla Bacon and Tuna open sanwhices wih portion of chips Such good vaule for money portions are fantastic and staff are so friendly We tried the place up the road House Of Darroch and they are VERY EXPENSIVE for the same sort of products and less value for money as well !!! We would highly anyone looking for a nice value for money go to this place you will be going back for sure
Good selection of soups, main courses and cakes. Fairly busy, and basic tables and chairs. Service was quite slow.
What is it about portions and cafes restaurants? How do you feel about this? Are you the type, who will automatically judge a place solely on the amount of food on the plate. I.e, that steak has to be the size of a small cow, or that piece of cake, needs to be something that could qualify as a Munro, with the corresponding documentary on the top 10 of cake Munros inside Scotland's cafes. I tend to be a “wait and see” type of person, as recent forays into cake shops cafes (particularly the Buttterscotch Cafe in Glasgow's West End), have led me to see that, at times, something smaller than normal can still have quite a punch both in taste and calories! This leads me to the Loch Lomond Homes Garden Centre, along the road leading out of Balloch, easterly, which I have frequented several times the last year. The portions of their sweets and cakes are the size of Everest. The corresponding pots of tea, could fill nearby Loch Lomond. And for a cheap cheerful (and huge) High Tea, you really must experience it. Try if your dare. Recommended.
