Contribuiți la feedbackI arrived in the evening it was already dark. Pulled into the completely dark, empty carpark and looked at the huge dark building in front of me. The central area had lights on but both ‘wings’ of the hotel were in darkness’. As I crossed the carpark and got closer I could see into some of the public areas which were obviously closed. I noticed the windows were dirty and weeds growing up between the pavers. After a long day travelling I was disappointed to find that the hotel must be closed! I pushed the door and it opened, I went inside and there was no one. Not on reception, in the bar, no one anywhere. Next to the lift I found an envelope with my name on it. They room key inside and phone number of some local pubs if I wanted to eat. I had to get back in my car and go out again to find something to eat. In the morning i realised they didn’t serve breakfast and I had to go buy it in a cafe across the carpark. The room itself was ok, a bit grubby in a few places and the bathroom was really hot while the room was cold as the air con was on all day. After breakfast I left my key back on the table and left. I can’t say for sure if i was the only guest but being in a huge building with the front door unlocked, on my own, with no staff was a little unnerving. I won’t be back.
I brought my partner here for Valentine's Day and we were incredibly impressed with the helpful and polite staff who exceeded our expectations. The spa is beautifully maintained with great attention to detail. The rooms are clean, tidy, and have all the necessary amenities. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by the chef who personally came to meet me and ensure my breakfast was satisfactory. The food was delicious, including a beautiful fruit salad and a lovely cooked breakfast. I will definitely be returning to this fantastic hotel with its extremely reasonable rates.
Booked this one nights stay for our anniversary. Everything about this was fantastic, staff, facilities, food, cleanliness and the spa. Well worth a visit and we will be returning and telling others to do the same.

We recently had Sunday lunch at the George Albert Hotel, a large new hotel located at Warden Hill on the A37. The Sunday carvery offered two roast meats and a vegetarian option, with desserts available but no starters. The dining room was spacious with plenty of natural light, although it felt slightly empty with only a few other parties dining at the time. The hotel had a modern feel to it, lacking much character, but there was a full bar area outside the dining room. The staff were friendly, and the food was of excellent quality and value. The roast potatoes were particularly good, and the variety of vegetables served was impressive. The desserts, including a chocolate Delice and a Raspberry Mousse, were surprisingly good. Overall, it was a pleasant meal, although it lacked a bit of excitement and atmosphere.
