Contribuiți la feedbackCalled in for lunch last week and informed them I was a celiac and required a GF meal. There were 2 GF options. We ordered our meals and paid for them. After a short while the waitress appeared and asked how much flour I was allowed, to which I replied none so could not have the pepper sauce. She also said the chips were all cooked in the same oil, so not able to have them either. So I opted for the other GF option which was a curry. The curry arrive with a large poppadom on top which was covered in loose flour. I asked if the flour was gluten free, after they asked chief they said it was not! We won't be going there again. So Celiac's beware
We typically look forwards to a family BY day meal here every year. Irs a special day for our family In the past the landlord has greeted us and there has been an efficient, friendly and welcoming bustle which we loved, the food in the past was delicious. The waitress was friendly but wore her slippers and joggers. Whilst there an elderly gentleman abdchis wife came in, they both wore the equivalent of suits and clearly had visited foe an occasion . It made me feel sad that the staff did not see this. We sensed the staff were tired and I do appreciate that it was new-year day, but even the farmers and walkers looked tidy . It was a shame . Hubby had a ploughman's. It was not presented nicely and looked as though no thought or care had been put into the presentation of it. My penang curry was at best luke warm. My daughter had the mango sorbet. It was served in a sugar bowl!. My youngest daughters main meal was served in a soup bowl! At £100 we were very disappointed. It was a lax service and a very poor standard compared to the usual high one. I don't know if it was lack of leadership that day, but clearly no one checked the food as ur came out. I hope this was a one off bad day. This is usually a gem of a place. If we had not in the last had such a lovely experience, then based on today's shoddy show we would not return. We did bring these points to the attention of the bar lady on departure, we were super polite and she recieved our thoughts and views with kindness and good grace .
We had the last uncooked table on a busy Sunday. Given how busy it was service was good and food arrived in a timely manner. The Sunday lunch was good but not exceptional but given the price this was to be expected. If we lived locally we could well be regulars
We stayed here for 2 nights. The accommodation is poor and in need of modernisation. Tiles in bathroom are black and in need of re grouting, windows are steamed up with condensation. Cold in the room and had to ask on both nights to have the heating on. There was no hair dryer and when asked for one I was told that this was an unusual request. Was expecting room to be replenished on 2nd day, no bed made or towels changed, used coffee cups still in room. Was told that it should have been done. Breakfast was lovely but the evening menu was disappointing.. Special board was the same on both nights. Such a shame as it is right on the Moors...
Stopped here with my parents and son for something to eat. Lovely warm welcome from the staff. Food was amazing. Will be back again
