Crown Garter - West Berkshire

We visited the bakery for lunch, despite having had many disappointing experiences in the past. This time, we ordered Coronation Chicken sandwiches, sausage rolls, chips, and coffee. The chips were fine, the coffee was good, but the sausage rolls were extremely cold and hard. The bread for the sandwich was stale and tough, with hardly any chicken in the filling. We were disappointed once again, especially since we had already paid. The Manageress was very apologetic and offered us coffee and cake. We really want this bakery to be good!

I recently stayed at the Crown and Garter for the weekend and it was a wonderful experience. The village pub is lovely, with comfortable rooms set around a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy a drink and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The landscaping is excellent. My friends and I had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant both days and the food was fantastic. Everything was delicious and I would highly recommend it. I want to give a special shout out to the young waiting staff who were polite, friendly, attentive, and professional. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. Thank you!

I recently returned from a wonderful weekend getaway with friends, staying two nights at the Crown Garter. I highly recommend this place, as we couldn't find a single fault! The room was fantastic, with a lovely large bed that was nice and quiet, along with a great bathroom and walk-in shower. The food was excellent, and the decor throughout the pub and hotel was lovely and very clean. Alana and all the staff were polite, friendly, and provided excellent service. We stayed here last year and will definitely be back again. Thank you to rooms 7 and 8 for helping to make our weekend great!

Friendly staff, except for what appears to be the boss lady who may have been having a bad day

First impression a pretty country location with great views. On arrival staff were helpful and extremely friendly. We had booked a 1 night stay with a set Valentine menu. Relaxing drinks in the bar before dinner then into the dining area. The food was exceptional as was the entertainment, Adan Winslet, Jazz and Swing highly recommend going to one of his performances here. Our beautiful room was a very high standard with everything we needed.
