The ordering process was simple, and after waiting for my order, I took it to a nearby park to eat. The fishcake I had was absolutely amazing, unlike any I've ever had before. It was so good that I could have just had that for lunch. I also tried some kartoffel scallops which were also delicious. I highly recommend this fish and chip shop.
Due to the recent flooding at gympie spent my wife and I nine nights in tannum sands so much time to taste the local restaurants. in this time our experiences of this fishing and chip business were good. the coral trout was excellent. the teig great with huge portions of chips.
The fish was overcooked, dry, and heavily breaded. The battered fish was small compared to the excessive amount of breading cooked in old oil. The prawn cutlets seemed to be imported as they were tiny once the soggy breading was removed, only about 3cm long. The sea scallops were burnt and black. It was evident that the chips were cooked in dirty oil. We spent $130 and ended up throwing the food away. It was disappointing that fresh, local seafood was not used despite being near the sea.
I don't typically write reviews, whether positive or negative, but this meal was a disappointment. The fish was nearly inedible due to its taste. I even tried scraping off the coating to see if it would help, but it didn't. The fries were passable at best. We were hungry after being on the road all day, so the only saving grace was the tartar sauce.
Terrible fish and chips. The batter is too oily. The whiting had bones in it. Some of the chips were raw. The ice cream display looked terrible too.
