We arrived at 6pm and found the restaurant to be full, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes for our food, which was delicious. The kids meals were generous and the chicken Parmi was huge, taking up half the plate. My salmon was fresh, perfectly cooked, and incredibly tasty. While the price was a bit high at $38, the food was worth it. This restaurant offers exactly what you would expect from a similar establishment in Tasmania - fresh, generous portions at a reasonable price. The location is great, the service was good, and I would happily recommend this place to others.
If I owned Shearwater Resort, I would not want to have any association with Waves Restaurant. Our experience over New Year's almost ruined our entire trip. We reserved a table on our first night and ordered three kids meals. The portions were very small, almost cold and dry as if they had been precooked and left out for an hour. One of the meals even had an insect leg on one of the chips. Our main meals were also disappointing. The steak ordered medium-well was almost blue and came with only a small portion of pre-cooked chips. My salmon, which I don't mind being slightly undercooked, was actually still frozen on the inside and just seared on the outside. I ended up getting sick that night. The sweet potato mash was the only good thing about the meal, but unfortunately, that also came back up. It's clear that cost cutting has gone too far at this restaurant. The staff were great, but the food quality was lacking. Overall, a bitterly disappointing experience. I would not recommend dining here.
Nothing positive about this place, expensive, horrible food and long waits. Would never eat here again. Nothing complicated about a chicken Parma waited 48 minutes. Service was disgusting
Service was very good. Thai salad was OK. Vegetable korma curry very disappointing. No bananas for fritter. Sundae was bowl of icecream with flavouring. Pokies were a huge rip off also. Overall not good value for the high prices.
I have previously given negative reviews and, consequently, not been here for a while. Three of us decided to go last night and, what a turnaround!!. All staff were friendly and efficient...top marks. Our food was superb. We did complete the comments form so these will backup what I'm saying...and what a great idea to have them on the table. The menu is excellent with plenty of GF options. Great wine list and a good daily specials board. Please keep it up...we will be back... Thankyou
