As we arrived late the restaurant was closed but the staff kindly made us sandwiches. The room we had was very clean but extremely dated. When you consider it was out of season, €115 for a room, breakfast 2 sandwiches isn't exactly cheap. Breakfast was very good indeed. When we came to check out we were told cash only as the card machine wasn't working, this has happened to us before in Austria Germany. The hotel has parking close by is only a few kilometers from the motorway.
We would not get there especially. But if you're in the area and are looking to eat local food, it's a great place. Great Austrian schnitzel! Delicious local soups (especially the garlic soup and the pancake soup, we did not like the goulash at all) Most of all we enjoyed the Kaiserschmarrn. (A local dessert of shredded pancakes. A bit strange, but fun and super comforting)
We only stayed one night as we were passing through and hadn't planned on staying any longer. The lady on reception who may well have been one of the family who owned the hotel, was very welcoming and helpful. The twin room we had was well equipped and had a nice view over the hills. As it was "off season" the hotel restaurant was closed in the evenings so we had to use a neighbouring one. We wanted to leave early the following morning and as such, declined breakfast. The lady was so concerned, she rushed about and made us a bag of food to take with us which was very kind.I guess if we were there for a ski holiday, things would be very different, and we noticed a ski lift just over the road. We were able to park our car outside the hotel, and we found everything to be clean.
