Vita Italiano - Welwyn Hatfield

My partner and I first visited this restaurant in the evening for our first date. Seven months later, we returned for lunch to celebrate our engagement. We were not disappointed. The food was all delicious, clearly freshly prepared, and served hot. The service was exceptional, mainly provided by the owner who was happy to chat with us about the dishes, the weather, and even the possibility of having a small, private wedding at the restaurant. We will definitely keep that option in mind! We highly recommend Vita Ristorante to friends and anyone else looking for a great dining experience. Evening Meal in this local Italian based restaurant. The food was absolutely fabulous. The calamari perfectly cooked and all the food beautifully presented and delicious.

Upon entering the restaurant, we immediately noticed a musty smell in the air and it was quite cold. The heating was eventually turned on, but it came from an overhead heater that blew directly down onto us. Two members of our group ordered beers, which were served in bottles. When we requested glasses, we were given two mismatched ones. We waited nearly an hour for our food and had to chase our order, only to be told by the waitress that there was chaos in the kitchen. A young waiter informed us that there was only one chef and was quite disrespectful and rude. We observed pizza deliveries being prioritized over food for the restaurant, which was frustrating. When our food finally arrived, all three pasta dishes were served with spaghetti instead of the linguine and penne we had requested. The waitress offered to change the dishes, but we didn't want to risk another long wait. The food was mediocre, with the lasagne being particularly disappointing and not resembling a traditional lasagne at all. We considered ordering desserts and coffee but were so disillusioned by the experience that we decided against it. The only positive aspect of the evening was receiving a complimentary round of drinks as compensation, however, this didn't make up for the overall poor experience. We will not be returning to this restaurant. Before leaving, we visited the toilets, which were unpleasant and in need of renovation (see photos).

Excellent service and food. Lovely olives, bread, and cheese balls for appetisers. I was served one of the best sirloin steaks that I've had. Cooked to perfection and very tender. A small, friendly and top class restaurant well worth a visit. 5*

The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the service provided by the Italian chef is top-notch! I was impressed with the atmosphere and the quality of the food, as well as the exceptional level of service. I will definitely be returning in the future.
