I liked the pizza to a boiled French bread that has a soggy crust with cheese pepperoni that feels like it had been thrown up *to* bake. If you take the pizza home and cook it at 375-400F in a toaster oven for 6-10 minutes, the crust will be firm and crispy, the paprika cracks a little, and the cheese tastes right. Do this if you want to upgrade to a 3-star experience, but the family nostalgia forces you to order from here. If you want a really good pizza, you are probably better off the order from somewhere else BEFORE you visit Wellsburg.
I've always loved her pizza, but it's even better if you heat it up in your frit for a few minutes. After I buy DiCarlos pizza (which I always order with mushrooms next to the standard peteroni), is the first thing I do when I go to my house, I place several pieces of pizza in my air frying basket and I run it at 400F degrees for 3 or 4 minutes. DiCarlos Pizza is always soggy in the carton during transportation. This happens every time. There are no exceptions. Most people don't care because it tastes so good. They just eat it happy in his ordinary soggy condition. But take a few minutes to get it extra hot and even crispy really increases it to a different level. I only do this with a regular basket;-style air frit, so I can never fit more than 4 or 5 pieces in the bottom of the basket at a time. I imagine that a large air frying stove, a toaster or a normal oven would also be suitable for DiCarlos. This also works well for the left pizza, which cold induce the refrigerator. The frit makes your cold pizza perfect.
The worst dicarlos by far maybe worst pizza shop ever. I?ve tasted better frozen pizza then this slop. First there is no order they serve who they want when they want. If they don?t know you you have to wait til all their friends are served first. Sauce was lousy not enough cheese and we ordered extra cheese. Rude employees if they do t know you. Don?t waste your time or your hard earned money here. This place is a dingy dirty smelly hole. This is the wellsburg dicarlos. Avoid at all cost
Been going to this DiCarlo's for over 40 years. I no longer get live in the area, but every time that I am close I stop in and stock up. Today I drove in from Cleveland to pick up 100 pieces to take back to Lawrenceburg, IN. It was a 200 mile detour but it is always worth it. Tim and his guys maintain the same high standards that I saw 40 years ago. Still waiting for Tim to bring me some when he visits his relatives in Cincinnati. Ate a whole box on the drive home.
