The White Hart Pub Rooms - Wells

The food here is quite mediocre. I ordered a burger and fries, but the burger was rather dry. This pub has the potential to be really great if they could enhance the quality of the food and expand the menu.

It was quite challenging to reach them. We were a group of seven, including a vegetarian, looking to dine on a Sunday. The main menu on their website indicated that it was available on Sundays as well, but when we arrived, we found only a Sunday menu displayed at the entrance, which offered just four choices: three roast dinners and one vegetarian option. We attempted to call the White Hart multiple times without any response. Eventually, they replied to my email, assuring me that the full menu would indeed be available on Sundays. However, upon arrival, we discovered that wasn’t the case. One of our group managed to get through on the phone, and was told that if she was lucky, there might be a nut roast as a Sunday option. Thankfully, the food was decent, and our vegetarian guest enjoyed their meal, but the whole booking experience was quite frustrating. If we had known about the limited menu, we would have chosen a different restaurant. While the roast dinner was nice, I don’t believe it justified the £14.50 price tag.

The food was somewhat disappointing, as the vegetables were served cold. Additionally, there were no hand towels or hand dryers in the men's restroom.

This was singularly the worst meal my wife and I have ever been served anywhere in the world. We both had pie with veg, I elected for mash whilst my wife opted for chips. The pies were not of good quality however the preparation probably made them seem much worse. The veg was pre prepared frozen which can be acceptable but this was hard and cold. My mash was one solid dry lump, tasted like it was a day or more old and had been microwaved. The chips were not much better. We will never use this establishment again and are disinclined to ever use open table again if this represents the establishments that you represent.

Lovely staff. The water without having to ask was appreciated. Little touches like the wooden table number spoon with the crest and our table reservation printed out were lovely.
